What Do You Truly Want to Know More About?

What would you really like to know more about?

Not what you should know more about.

Not what would impress other people.

Not what would help your resume.

What would you genuinely like to know more about?

It’s an interesting question because it points toward curiosity, and curiosity often points toward possibility.

It can also lead to a very powerful set of answers – answers that can spark incredible growth.

I say this with both confidence and certainty because this exact question, asked at different stages of my career and life, propelled me toward vistas and opportunities I could very easily have otherwise missed.

Here’s what I discovered:

Many of us carry around unanswered questions for years.

We’d like to know more about investing.

Or photography.

Or history.

Or relationships.

Or writing.

Or leadership.

Or our own family history.

Or a place we’ve always wanted to visit.

Yet somehow we never quite get around to pursuing the answers.

Why?

Sometimes it’s a lack of time.

Sometimes it’s a lack of confidence.

Sometimes we don’t know where to start.

And sometimes we’re reluctant to discover what might happen if we become truly interested.

Stop holding yourself back.

I don’t use many exclamation points, so that statement carries importance.

Because interest has a way of changing us.

An unanswered curiosity can become a hobby.

A hobby can become a passion.

A passion can become a calling.

So today, ask yourself a simple question:

What would you really like to know more about?

Then ask a second question:

What’s stopping me?

Your answer may reveal more than your interests.

It may reveal your reluctance.

And overcoming reluctance is often where growth begins.

Aspire.
